When the Fujifilm Classic Chrome film simulation was originally released a lot of people thought it was about the best thing since sliced bread. As soon as I purchased my X-T2 I tried it and was basically underwhelmed. To me the contrast in the shadows was to harsh and the blues of the Florida sky was way to green with the profile applied. Lately though I’ve found that there are some images that look pretty good with Classic Chrome applied. This is one of them.
The color is quite subdued. This really looks good as a print on matte paper. I guess I’ll try using it a bit more.
Soon I will post on how to apply the ACROS profile to Fujifilm X-T1 raw images (hint: using Capture One Pro 11)

Thanks for the post Jim.
I have a X-T2 question that is not directly related to the topic above, but perhaps a number of readers would be interested in the response if you are able to provide some information.
I have an X T-2 which is relatively new to me. I purchased it with the kit lens until I can learn more about the camera and then I plan to add additional lenses.
With that in mind, I purchased a B&W circular polarizer filter with a 77 mm thread size and a step up ring to fit my Fuji 18-55 kit lens. Later I will add some telephoto lenses with the wider diameter.
My problem is that I am looking for a lens hood that will have the correct amount/angle of flare to avoid vignetting when using the filter with a step up ring.
Would know of any lens hood that would be able to be used with the filter and step up ring and have the correct shape to avoid vignetting?
Thank you for any advice you can offer.
J. Ross
Just checked my stock of lenses and the XF 16-55mm is the only other lens that has the 77mm filter. I did find a number of inexpensive lens hoods at amazon. I have to admit that I very rarely use a lens hood. I haven’t had that much issue with lens flare. The XF 18-55mm is a good lens. It took me a long time (and some accumulated American Express points) to convince me to move to the XF 16-55mm and only after I’d picked up most of my other lenses
